| WelcomeThank you for your interest in our club. The Latitude 38° Parrot Head Club is a not for profit organization of people interested in the music and tropical spirit of JIMMY BUFFETT. We represent the NORTHERN CALIFORNIA region, from San Francisco to San Joaquin, north of Sacramento to south of San Jose, plus all points in between and beyond. We are a devoted group, who participate in community projects and help to preserve and improve the environment as a means of social interaction with like minded people. There's a lot of hard, fulfilling work involved in being a club member, but there are a lot of phun activities too. A newsletter and club calendar are distributed quarterly to keep members up to date with what's happening in the club and across the country. There are also posted on our website: www.Lat38phc.org As far as the hard work goes, we have adopted a park at Brannan Island. We volunteer at the Contra Costa Food Bank in Concord and Resource Area for Teachers in San Jose. We also work the phone banks at KVIE Public Broadcast Station in Sacramento during their pledge drive. The station loves our high spirits and parrot garb. We participate in the Cystic Fibrosis annual Great Strides Walk and the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk. We have adopted a manatee, Howie, through Save the Manatee and a flamingo at the Sacramento Zoo. The club continues to check other areas where we may be able to lend a helping hand. We give 3-4 annual $500 donations to worthy causes submitted by our members. I hope you'll decide to join us in the phun and phestivities of being a Latitude 38º Parrot Head. It's a great bunch of people who enjoy partying together and helping out the community and environment. If you have any questions at all, please send me an e-mail at president@lat38phc.org. Please fill out an application. Rus Hudson President |
