"I live on a Big Round Ball.
I never do dream I may fall. And even one day if I do. Well, I'll jump up and smile
back at you."

Two of our young keets have Cystic Fibrosis so we are quite involved in raising money to help find a cure.
Team Latitude 38° also participates in the annual Alzheimer's Memory Walk. We try to raise money
to help fight this debilitating disease. Many of our team members walk in honor of
Jimmy's dad, while other walk for their loved ones afflicted with Alzheimer's.
Club members man the
phone banks at the public broadcast station KVIE in Sacramento. As always, we are dressed
in our Parrot Head finest. KVIE lets us decorate the phone banks with our banners, palm
trees, etc. Latitude 38° shows the viewing audience a little of what Parrot Heads are all
about.
One of our parakeets has Angelman Syndrome. We participate by volunteering at the Art for Angels
(Animal Rescue Foundation) This is a no kill shelter! – Walnut Creek - Could help at the shelter, work at an adoption event or staff a fundraising event. We could also hold our own drive to collect food/toys/supplies for the shelter. ARF saves dogs and cats who have run out of time at public shelters and brings people and animals together to enrich each others lives. ARF strives to create a world where every loving dog and cat has a home, where every lonely person has a companion animal, and where children learn to care.

Volunteers work five times a year at the Contra Costa Food Bank. Our team
sorts, boxes, and labels food for the less fortunate. Our dedication and hard work is
greatly appreciated by the crew.
Our team participates in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. It is an overnight event to support
the fight against cancer. The Relay is much more than a walk around a track. It is a time to remember those lost to cancer and celebrate those who have survived. It is a night for people who have shared the same experience to comfort and console one another. During this event, we honor survivors during the Survivors Lap and we remember those we lost to cancer during the Luminaria Ceremony. We also celebrate life, friendship, and a chance to work together toward a cancer-free future.
