The phlock at Latitude 38° Parrot Head Club is very active in supporting charity, community, and environmental causes. We enjoy doing our part to help others and our planet and make every event a celebration. We enjoy getting together with like minded phriends and there is always a sense of pride in a job well done. Charity & Community Service

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a non-profit donor-supported organization, is working towards the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. Two of Latitude 38 PHC’s parakeets are afflicted by this disease, and the club participates in various fundraisers each year to support this organization.

The foundation’s mission is to advance the awareness and treatment of Angelman Syndrome through education and information, research, support and advocacy for individuals with Angelman Syndrome, their families, and other concerned parties. This is 24-hour relay around the track of a local middle or high school celebrates the lives of those who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones lost, and empowers all of us to fight back against a disease that takes too much. Our team must have at least one walker at all times during the 24-hour period. We also need volunteers to setup and man our booth.

Formerly Memory Walk, this annual event supports funding for Alzheimer’s research. The length of the walk is approximately 3 miles, or a 1.5 mile shortcut. Please join the team and help us in our fight to end Alzheimer's!

Latitude 38 PHC has committed to participate in donating time as phone bank volunteers during KVIE's Annual Membership Drive! Deck yourself out as a true Parrothead, they say that coordinated groups look great on camera, and join us at our Sacramento event.

Environmental Service

This is a terrific facility located in the Marin Headlands whose mission is to rescue and humanely treat ill, injured, or orphaned marine mammals such as sea lions, seals, and sea otters. Please check out their website at www.marinemammalcenter.org if you are interested in learning more!

This is a food and wine tasting fund raising event for the zoo, which is a ton of fun! Approximately 25 restaurants and 25 wineries participate in this event (a few breweries might get tossed into the mix also!). They generally have between 700-900 participants at $50 each ticket. Our group generally mans the margarita booths, and we play Jimmy Buffett music to set the mood!
